Spreading happy mama-baby dust one blog at a time

Featured on PregnantandPerfect.com

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I created this site so I could share my experiences and learnings as a first-time mama. I find that motherhood has been teaching me the best life lessons and I felt like I just needed to share these with the world.

I believe that as a mama, it’s important to take care of yourself first. Yes, FIRST. This might be an unpopular opinion, but just hear me out for a sec.

When I was traversing the newborn phase, my mentality was “baby first.” I neglected myself. I didn’t think of mama self-care. So my wounds didn’t heal fast, my emotions were all over the place, my mental health was at the lowest of lows…

I don’t know if my baby felt my anxiety and troubled feelings then. I certainly hope he didn’t. It was horrible not being able to give my 100% to my newborn baby.

Imagine taking care of a newborn when you’re not 100% well. Let me put it this way —

As a mom, you’re the teapot. You can’t pour a single drop of tea into a cup if you’re empty to begin with. Motherhood could drain you at times, but you’ll be in the negative if you’re already at zero to start.

This is why I think, the secret to raising happy and healthy babies is ensuring that mama is healthy and happy.

Have I convinced you yet? Yes? No? Ok well maybe try one or all of these:

My Birth Story

Every mama has a unique birth story. Whether it’s a C-section, a 2-minute bathroom delivery or hours of gruelling labour and pushing, it’s a story of incredible strength and determination. This is mine.

The Hardest Part Of My Pregnancy Was The Fourth Trimester

There is a fourth trimester of pregnancy and frankly, I found it to be the most difficult period in my entire pregnancy.

The Joys of Motherhood

In my attempt to spread awareness on postpartum recovery and the mental and emotional challenges that a new mom could face, I didn’t realize that it had the unintended effect of scaring some women about pregnancy and motherhood. And so in this blog, I’d like to focus on the joys of motherhood. I’d like to share what makes every mama say “it’s worth it.”
